Why Pilates?

Pilates unites the body & mind in a way that helps ease tension and promote strength, health and wellness.

With regular practice you can improve your posture, balance, stability, flexibility, mobility, co-ordination, and breathing. You will become more body aware with your alignment, reduce your stress levels, and become stronger.

I teach following the 'Pilates Principles'

Centering, Control, Concentration, Breathing, Precision and Flow -

Centering - using your core and pelvic floor, keeping that deep inner muscle connection.

Control - keeping constant and complete control of your body during every movement.

Concentration - having the mind to body connection when you move without distraction.

Breathing - laterally, full and wide into the ribs, in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Cleansing your body of toxic air and bringing focus to your practice.

Precision - less repetitions of a movement but everyone precise to gain the best results.

Flow - learning to practice with flowing movements, linking exercises and progressing.

Learning and bringing all these principles in to your practice will make changes happen in both your body and mind.
